PLAYPLAYFUN'S IMPRESSION ON BREAKRUN:
If you have played Breakout and Arkanoid in the past, you kind of know what you are expecting from BreakRun. However, instead of vertical, BreakRun is a side scrolling horizontal endless runner game. Right from the start, you are to move your paddle up and down while waiting for obstacles to come to you. Colored dots, which will be your main weapoons to destroy blocks, will appear soon. Use the colored dots and aim them to hit the blocks. That's the core gameplay of BreakRun.
Some of the unique aspect of this game is that you can shorten your paddle by going over top and bottom or partially hitting the obstacles (don't hit the red core). You can replenish your paddle by hitting a dot successfully. I also notice that as you hit a dot consecutively, the dot will get bigger and bigger. That means it will have bigger surface area to increase the chance to destroy multiple blocks at once. The last point that I notice is the power bar on the top. As you bounce a dot, the power bar will increase. Once full, you can unleash a blast of laser to remove obstacles. It's a pretty cool sight!
Overall, for such a seemingly simple game, BreakRun is actually quite intricate. There are hidden features and behaviours that you will probably find out as you play along. It certainly adds to the replayability. I give this game, two thumbs up!
